Fans of Coronation Street are adamant that they have identified the straightforward error Stephen Reid has made that will result in his downfall.
After concealing Teddy Thompkins’ (Grant Burgin) body in Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) car’s roof box tonight, Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) of Coronation Street dumped Teddy Thompkins’ (Grant Burgin) body in a lake. However, astute viewers believe they have figured out Stephen’s demise after spotting a “obvious” plothole.
In tonight’s episode, Stephen made a last-ditch effort to dispose of the body he had stashed in Audrey’s car box.
Stephen was afraid Audrey would return from a night out with her friends to find Teddy’s body on top of her car. Audrey had left for a night out with her friends.
When Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) walked in and said that she had broken down and was waiting for Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) to bring her home, Stephen continued to ring his mother’s phone while he was sitting in the cafe.
Stephen was eager to leave the factory after she returned to Weatherfield so he could dispose of the body.
He ran into Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) outside, who prompted him to think about the CCTV that was installed throughout the factory and could have caught Stephen in the act.
Another near-death experience for Stephen followed Carla Connor’s (Alison King) suspicions when she saw him huddling over the computer.
Stephen jumped into the car to take advantage of the opportunity before he was called away to attend to something else, but he soon encountered another challenge: the car had run out of gas.
Jack P. Shepherd’s character, David Platt, insisted that he needed the car and the roof box to get some wood chips from the garden center.
Stephen was discovered by Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) drinking a bottle of whiskey while sitting in Victoria Gardens and admitting defeat.
After Carla discovered that Sarah had used the factory belongings without her present, Sarah became desperate to locate her uncle because she believed he had lost his job.
Stephen believed his time was up when he entered the Rovers Return’s back room and that David had discovered Teddy’s body on top of the vehicle.
Sarah acknowledged, however, that by the time David arrived at the garden center, the wood chips had run out and the roof box wasn’t necessary after all.
Stephen hurried out of the Rovers to dispose of Teddy’s body, and a wave of relief washed over him.
He removed the box from the car in a remote area, filled it with additional stones, and then threw it into the river.
The box floated on top of the water instead of sinking to the bottom as he had hoped, and panic started to return.
Looking around, he saw a man approaching him with his dog, but fortune was on the bad guy’s side because the box fell to the river’s bottom just in time.
Teddy had finally been fired, but Carla has grown wary of his recent behavior, so how long will he be able to keep his secrets hidden?
He should have known the box would float, said viewers of the ITV soap, who were left “in tears” by the error.
On Twitter, Rick Poppa made fun of: “Have you ever had a sinking feeling? #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”
Because nobody will inquire as to what happened to his roof box, Mike noted: “#coronationstreet.” (sic)
Wee Westie29 left a comment: “That won’t last for very long because Stephen is currently operating on borrowed time and the clock is ticking. Coronation Street and #Corrie.”
Why did he think that would sink #Corrie #CoronationStreet, Jack questioned.
“OMG I am howling with laughter and tears rolling down my face watching that f***ing roof box floating #corrie #coronationstreet,” @soph cheekbones exclaimed in laughter.
Dan Lewis questioned: “his expression when that box began to float. The poor man is incapable of doing f**k all right.”
