After two of its residents got into trouble, Coronation Street might soon see a double exit.
The hour-long Coronation Street episode on Friday night featured plenty of drama for the show’s young stars Amy Barlow and Summer Spellman (played by Harriet Bibby) (Elle Mulvaney). After leaving Summer (Tom Lorcan) alone in a room of his house without any food, water, or insulin, Mike put her in danger. Amy, on the other hand, was heartbroken when Jacob (James Ryan) informed her that he was moving on.
Jacob, Amy’s boyfriend, received a beating from his father Damon (Ciarán Griffiths), who warned him to leave the cobbles permanently if he wanted to keep Amy safe.
Jacob made the decision to tell Nick (Ben Price) the truth before leaving, explaining how Damon was smuggling drugs through the eatery.
“Jacob said to Nick, “He’s smuggling coke through here. It’s bad, it’s really bad.
“That’s what prompted the sniffer dogs to go out yesterday; he has everything planned out; this is just the beginning.
“The Italian goods, including the drugs, are coming through.”
As Jacob yelled, Nick shook his head in denial “Pay attention to what I have to say.
“No matter how terrible my uncle Harvey was, according to the rumors I’d heard, my dad was the real threat. His connections will cause harm to others.”
As Jacob exploded, Nick argued, “I’ll go to the police”: “He reached Harvey in prison, but you’re not paying attention.
“I must leave. He revealed that I stole the drugs to keep the heat off of him when I had to flush them yesterday.”
When asked why he had to leave, Jacob responded as follows: “I have to. They threatened to harm Amy.”
Or Leanne, or me,” Nick said. “I’m to blame. I shouldn’t have accepted that cash.”
The young boy begged him to watch out for Amy before he left.
At the conclusion of the one-hour episode, Todd (Gareth Pierce) revealed he had received a call from Ava, a member of Mike and Esther’s (Vanessa Hehir) former church, who claimed she had an affair with Mike. This revelation gave Summer the shock of her life.
When Esther was confronted later, she admitted that it was true, but Summer wasn’t content to stop there.
She visited a distraught Mike and warned him to tell Esther the truth—that he had not only had an affair with this woman, but also had a child with her—or she would call the police.
However, when Mike locked Amy in the nursery without her insulin, things took a dramatic turn.
After the episode, viewers shared their predictions for the future on social media.
Could a double exit be planned with Jacob leaving the cobblestones in a taxi and Amy and Summer’s lives in jeopardy?
Some fans appeared to believe that history will repeat itself and that Mike might go down the same path as serial killer John Stape.
