Summer Spellman, a young cast member of Coronation Street, had been concealing her pregnancy and intended to leave with her boyfriend Aaron Sandford, but she is about to suffer a devastating setback.
Aaron (James Craven) and Summer (Harriet Bibby) intended to place their infant for adoption with Esther (Vanessa Hehir) and Mike Hargrave (Tom Lorcan). In exchange for them not having an abortion, she blackmailed the couple into giving her £10,000 so that Aaron’s dad could enter rehab. Now that she has a miscarriage, Summer is heartbroken, but will she tell Esther and Mike the truth?, according to official spoilers.
In a later scene, Summer stops by the apartment during her lunch break and discovers Aaron there with his father.
Despite acknowledging his alcoholism, Eric is determined to kick the habit with the support of Aaron and Summer.
When he inquires about how they raised the funds for his treatment, the subject of his rehab quickly comes up, and the two respond that they borrowed the money from Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
Aaron is reminded by Summer that Billy must not learn about the pregnancy, and she explains that the only way to prevent this is to relocate as the child grows and then return once the baby is born.
She informs Aaron that she will be meeting Esther and Mike after her appointment with the midwife.
Summer informs the couple that she and Aaron are preparing to leave until the baby is born after her appointment.
Will the teen back out of their agreement when Esther suggests that Summer move in with them?
Before they leave Esther and Mike’s to confront Eric, Jacob Hay (Jack James Ryan) informs Summer that Aaron’s father has been drinking once more.
Summer notices some stomach pain as a result of the strain and quickly realizes that she is bleeding.
When Summer later learns she had a miscarriage, she is heartbroken.
When they get back home, they discover a bloody, inebriated Eric who is yelling at his son.
Aaron seizes control of the situation and orders the taxi driver to take him and his father to the hospital.
As she waits for Aaron to come back, Esther texts Summer to let her know how much they are anticipating her moving in.
Will Summer break the heartbreaking news to Esther?
Summer tries to carry on with her daily activities in the factory but soon collapses in agony, and Carla Barlow (Alison King) and Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) send her home.
Aaron later explains to Summer that since his Dad has decided to go back to rehab, they won’t be seeing him for a while.
The teenagers exchange guilty looks as they see Mike and Esther again and learn that they have decorated the spare room for the expectant mother.
Esther puts her hand on Summer’s stomach, but she quickly leaves the room after feeling overwhelmed.
Will Summer reveal that she is pregnant? Or will she keep telling lies to keep Aaron away from his father?
