Daniel Osbourne of Coronation Street turns to alcohol as he struggles to deal with his girlfriend Daisy Midgeley’s health scare.
In upcoming episodes, couple Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) are having problems in Weatherfield. Next week’s episodes will feature scenes in which Daisy is let down by Dan after discovering a breast lump.
Over the past few years, Daniel’s relationship with women has been somewhat rocky. After the tragic passing of his wife Sinead (Katie McGlynn), he began dating Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
However, as she moved away from the cobbles to pursue a writing career, the couple realized their relationship wasn’t meant to be.
Finding love with Daisy, everything appeared to be going according to plan until the following week, when they will both be put to the test in various ways.
In later scenes, Daniel is inspired to start writing again after reading a magazine article Bethany wrote, though Daisy is startled and a little envious when her name is brought up.
Later, as Daisy confides in Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), who encourages her to speak to Daniel, she discovers a lump in her breast.
He appears a little shaken but agrees to accompany her to the doctor when she tells him about her health scare.
He tells Daisy he’ll meet her at the hospital while trying to mask his anxiety over the fact that his late wife passed away from cancer.
Later, when he is at the Rover Return, the drinks begin to flow, and Jenny is horrified to discover that he has let Daisy down.
He stumbles outside to tend to his girlfriend after informing the bewildered customers of the pub that Daisy might have cancer.
Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), who intervened to convince Daniel that drinking wasn’t the solution and that he should go be by her side, was the one who ultimately convinced Daniel to make this choice.
Daisy is alone when a drunk Daniel bursts through the door and abruptly interrupts Daisy’s appointment.
According to an thesuns.info theory, Daisy is upset with Daniel for his actions and wants him to wait outside for her.
After her appointment, she reprimands her boyfriend for being careless and assumes his intoxicated outburst was related to seeing Bethany’s name earlier.
Intoxicated and unwilling to admit the truth about his fear of losing her as he did Sinead, Daniel doesn’t refute the charges.
Could Daisy’s relationship currently be too much for her to handle, leaving Daniel heartbroken once more as her insecurities grow and her attention now turns to her health scare?
Regarding Daisy’s resentment, actor Rob Mallard said that since she hasn’t met his ex before, she has made up this image of what she is like.
She exhibits typical jealous behavior, he said, and since she has never met Bethany, she can only compare her to the Bethany in her mind, who will have ten times better everything than she could ever provide.
“It’s almost like she’s competing with this imaginary character, and that sets off some of Daisy’s behavior.
Daniel doesn’t have a wandering eye, and family is a very important part of his values.
