In the upcoming Christmas special, Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs from Coronation Street will wed.
The enduring couple Fiz and Tyrone from Coronation Street have been dating intermittently for more than 21 years. Despite spending time apart and seeing other people, the couple always seems to come back together. The couple recently had their engagement ceremony, and the Christmas special will feature a celebratory wedding.
However, actors Jennie and Alan recently discussed the plot and described a scene in which they had to stop filming because they were laughing too hard.
Following Fiz’s declaration that she doesn’t want a large ceremony, Tyrone decides to plan their wedding as a surprise for her in upcoming scenes.
He enlists the aid of his daughters Ruby Dobbs and Hope Stape (Isabelle Flanagan) (Macy Alabi).
Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Beth Sunderland (Lisa George) manage to assist Tyrone in some way throughout his planning.
Fiz is thrilled to spend their first Christmas together as a real family, complete with holiday fun, on Christmas morning.
She has prepared a lavish Christmas dinner and all the gifts for Tyrone and the children, but she is disappointed when he suggests getting takeout.
Regarding the scenes that would follow, Jenny and Alan acknowledged that they had difficulty shooting one particular scene.
Jenny told thesuns.info that the woman was “extremely excited” and that she had no idea that a wedding was being planned, so she was instead preparing for the ideal Christmas.
“First Christmas back as a family unit, and she just wants the perfect Christmas that you see in those adverts and supermarkets.
“She’s planning it, then he says ‘Maybe we won’t have Christmas dinner, why don’t we just get a pizza, loads of people are getting takeaways nowadays.’
“So that is not good, then she gets him a really special present which she thought really carefully about and he gets her a…”
Laughing at the story, she continued: “It’s not about the money, it’s not about the material gain, but you know it’s the thought that counts, well there is literally no thought in the present that he gives her.”
Jenny continued, “This is one of those moments when we get the script, and I read the script on what Tyrone gives to Fiz on Christmas Day,” to Alan’s amused chuckle.
I must admit that I started laughing, and when we tried to record it, we started laughing again. It is horrible, and a terrible present.
So everything she is planning, Jenny continued, “he is saying the opposite of.”
Fans were ecstatic when their engagement scenes were finally broadcast because they thought this might be their happy ending.
Taking to their Twitter account, @BizzelBlazing exclaimed: “PLEASE say this is the third time lucky for these two!”
Simon Mayners said: “Fiz and Tyrone engagement – let’s hope they finally get down the aisle this time.”
@AllyAyers commented: “Can they please get married this time, please? I am fed up with these two on and off again!”
@Killer_PONS87769 added: “AN ENGAGEMENT! Wasn’t the best proposal but fingers crossed that they manage to get married this time!” (sic)
