Jenny Connor of Coronation Street is about to have her life turned upside down when a new neighbor endangers her friendship with Daisy Midgeley.
Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) has put a lot of effort into improving her relationship with stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley over the past few years (Charlotte Jordan). After Jenny thought Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) had stood her up and Daisy’s recent cancer scare, the two have recently grown closer. Jenny, however, is going to be upset in upcoming scenes when Daisy’s birth mother Christina (Amy Robbins) shows up at Weatherfield.
Soon, Christina shows up on the cobblestones after hearing from one of Daisy’s former classmates that she is getting married to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).
Daisy hasn’t talked much about her mother, and the reason is simple: they don’t keep in touch.
Daisy, the would-be influencer, does not want to speak to Christina when she arrives and begs her to make things right.
Jenny’s protective nature will come out when Christina turns her attention to her, which will lead to some rivalry between the two.
Recently, actress Amy hinted at the impending conflict between the two maternal figures by saying there is “instant rivalry.”
“Because Jenny is a formidable opponent and Christina is as well, the situation between the two of them is extremely challenging and electrically frightening. I don’t believe either of them is prepared to back down.
“It all has to do with the fact that they both sincerely desire Daisy’s love and attention. In a sense, they are squabbling over her.
“It’s not very appropriate for a pair of women in their 50s, but that’s what it is, in the end. dreadful rivalry, dreadful, “She spoke to Metro UK.
The fact that Christina thinks Jenny left her husband and is to blame for their failing marriage is another factor that may cause the two to disagree.
Jenny will maintain her pride by saying that she thought the marriage was already over.
Despite their strained relationship and the fact that they haven’t spoken in years, Christina is still proud of Daisy’s life.
Amy outlined. Will Christina’s pride turn into jealousy despite the fact that she feels Daisy is living the life she never had?
In a recent interview, Charlotte also discussed her mother’s impending visit, describing it as “fractured and distant.”
She stated to the press, including Express.co.uk, that she hasn’t really interacted with the woman since the girl was very young.
Because of the length of time since then and the fact that she is 26 years old, she is not simply a ball of rage.
She has sort of come to terms with the fact that this is a relationship, but she actually causes more trouble because she keeps popping up.
“She doesn’t give her much and always tends to want something from her and then just clears off so it’s more about ‘what do you want? Why are you here?’
“But yeah, I think it helps viewers for sure. It will help them understand why she is, you know, spiky sometimes.
“And why she does put up a front because she’s had a lot of things go wrong in her life really. Trust issues.”
