Because they fear for Gabrielle Reid’s life, Coronation Street viewers have allegedly planned Stephen Reid’s next move.
Fans of Coronation Street have been worried about Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) since her son Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) finally received the cash he had been eyeing since moving to Weatherfield. Audrey revealed she was going to learn more about an equity release on her house after giving the money he owed to his ex-wife Gabrielle (Helene Maksoud). In a desperate attempt to get assistance, Stephen once more turned to Gabrielle, but she ignored him before leaving.However, Gabrielle’s fans worry that they haven’t seen the last of her and believe she will be Stephen’s next victim.
Last week, Stephen tricked Gabrielle into assisting him in obtaining Audrey’s funds by posing as his mother in front of the mortgage broker.
Stephen paid Gabrielle the £200,000 he owed her while they were drinking in the pub and then revealed he was leaving the country.
The Northern Lights trip for his grandson Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) would have required Audrey to release equity from her home, which would have foiled his plans.
Stephen begged Gabrielle for assistance out of fear that he would be exposed, but she had had enough of his games and told him to handle it on his own.
Audrey finally gave up on trying to make him pay for the trip and thanked Stephen for being so “generous” with his money.
The Northern Lights could be seen in Canada, and they could stay in one of his properties to save money, Audrey suggested during Friday’s episode as she started to feel bad about taking the money from Stephen.
In an effort to thwart Audrey and Sam’s plans to move to Canada, Stephen became panicked. He persuaded Gail Platt (Helen Worth) that the weather in Canada would be too harsh for them and that they would be better off taking a cruise to Norway instead, which he would arrange.
Before leaving Weatherfield with the majority of Audrey’s money, Gabrielle said her goodbyes to the family, but will this be the last time her admirers will see her?
Gabrielle recently left Coronation Street, but hosts of the podcast Conversation Street Michael and Gemma theorized they hadn’t seen the last of her.
Michael stated: “Gabrielle has been a great addition to the show, so in a way, I’m glad she’s leaving.
“But I’ve grown very tired of all the scenes where she and Stephen meet up in secret; it seems like every other scene in this story is just them getting together in a public place.
But I’m really shocked that he hasn’t bumped her off; he still might!
“I am not convinced she is not going to make it out of this story alive,” Gemma interjected.
I believe that maybe the plot has been put on hold for a while, and she will return at some point in the future, where he will possibly finish her off.
Gemma speculated, “Perhaps she’ll come back at Christmas.” She wants to buy gifts for everyone because she is lonely and has so much money.
Michael expressed their appreciation for the plot, saying, “I am still enjoying the story, well, I think I am, but I am seeing a lot of hatred for it online.
I’m not sure if I’m just telling myself I’m enjoying it because I like this kind of story generally, or if I’m actually enjoying it.
Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), who was on the verge of revealing the conman’s true motives, was shot by Stephen once before.
If Gabrielle runs out of money, she might come back and ask Stephen for more money because she knows he can get his hands on it and use it to blackmail Stephen by telling him what he did to his family.
Stephen will undoubtedly feel on edge when Gabrielle returns and demands more money, but will he respond violently to his ex-wife or will he comply with her demands?
