Fans of Coronation Street think they have figured out how cunning killer Stephen Reid will be apprehended after spotting hints in the ITV soap’s episode from Monday.
Fans are aware that Todd Boyce’s character Stephen killed Leo Thompkins, the fiancé of Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), but the villain may soon come to light. On the day that he and the bartender from Weatherfield were supposed to board a plane for Canada, Leo vanished. After a heated argument, Leo vanished, and Jenny was devastated to learn that her boyfriend had left without her.
Since then, Stephen has worked to conceal his movements and has used Leo’s phone to confuse his family members about his whereabouts.Along with his constant presence around Jenny and keen interest in the disappearance, viewers realized how this could turn against him. Could the murderer soon be identified on the ITV soap opera after committing several errors?
Leo was pushed off a balcony by Stephen, who then disposed of his body.
By consoling Jenny over Leo’s “rejection” and attempting to stay informed about the hunt for the missing local, the con artist has pretended to be innocent.
In the Monday episode, Teddy Thompkins (Grant Burgin), Leo’s father, made the decision to start looking for his son. In response, Stephen took a photo of Teddy and Jenny on Leo’s phone.
He sent Teddy the picture while posing as Leo and accusing them of having a secret relationship.
After keeping Leo’s phone on him for weeks, he later loudly destroyed it.
Teddy and Stephen had a conversation in which Stephen urged Teddy to “give Leo space.”
What if you travel all the way there and are unable to locate him or he refuses to communicate with you? He queried.
Teddy answered, “Well, that’s just a risk I’ll have to take.
The idea of him hating us from the other side of the globe, thinking something is going on between us, said a heartbroken Jenny.
Teddy is correct; you must take action. Teddy proposed texting Leo once more, and Stephen responded, “Maybe that will be enough.”
Jenny countered, “No, he needs one of us to look him in the eye.
Teddy chose not to travel to Canada in search of “Leo” after receiving a further message from him indicating that he would be living off the grid.
Later, Stephen accidentally ran into Teddy again and kept shooing him away.
He questioned, “I’m glad I caught you, what did he say, your son?” “You were going to go out there and chase him,” she said.
Teddy responded, “Yeah, turns out he’s not too keen on it.
To stop further rumors that Teddy and Jenny were having an affair, Stephen then advised Teddy to avoid Weatherfield.
Later, when he found Jenny, he told her why Leo’s father had chosen to stay away.
Fans believe that Stephen’s persistent involvement in the investigation and use of Leo’s phone would have generated suspicion and possibly resulted in his arrest.
Others noted that he would have alerted one of the neighbors by loudly destroying the phone in the open.
@ManaboutLdn, a user on Twitter, wrote: “I adore how Stephen opened the phone in the bar, took pictures with it, and then simply smashed it to pieces without anyone noticing! #Corrie #coronationstreet @itvcorrie”
Aren’t Stephen’s fingerprints all over that phone, #Corrie? said @MeeshyJay.
Satta Heaspie wrote: “Stephen is unfamiliar with cell mapping. #Corrie Police track the phone signal.”
“Would someone please trace the signal #Corrie,” tweeted @samtheaspie.
Mressex48 tweeted: “Has Leo been reported to the police on #corrie? They can track him down if he recently changed his phone. Towers are pinging, but Canada won’t be reporting it to the police.” (sic)
“Crazy plot… Stephen is expressing WAY too much curiosity about what happened to Leo. It’s foolish! Corrie, aka #CoronationStreet “@EdgarIrene made a mention.
Dangerous Stephen first became aware of Leo when he realized he had been deceiving his mother Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) in order to steal her money.
Stephen was welcomed by the inhabitants of the cobbles and his family with open arms as the long-lost son of the soap stalwart.
He appears to have been deceiving everyone, with his main goal being to obtain Audrey’s money in any way possible.
Eagle-eyed When Leo realized what he was doing, he made the decision to confront him, which resulted in a fatal altercation and Leo being pushed off a balcony by Stephen.
Will he finally show up on the police’s radar given that his subsequent actions are certain to have aroused suspicion and that Leo’s father is about to file a missing person’s report for him?
