Summer Spellman from Coronation Street has experienced her fair share of drama since joining the show, and now viewers have “predicted” a terrifying possible outcome to her pregnancy plot.
Summer, a teenage girl played by Harriet Bibby, recently learned that she was expecting a child with her boyfriend Aaron Sandford (James Craven). The young woman, who had made up her mind to have an abortion, changed her mind at the last minute and decided to give birth to the child instead, giving it to Esther and Mike Hargrave (Vanessa Hehir and Tom Lorcan), who had offered her money in exchange for the child. Viewers of Coronation Street are growing concerned for the child as the plot develops and have “worked out” the grim future she might face.
Fans have been leery of the couple ever since they offered Summer the job, but a recent exchange on the ITV soap has them even more worried.
After seeing Aaron struggle with his father’s alcoholism and realizing she couldn’t get him into rehab, Summer made the decision to accept the couple’s offer.
The grateful couple told her how much the agreement meant to them as they spoke with her.
Summer was persuaded to keep her child so the two could adopt him or her because of their enthusiasm for the choice.
After the scan, Mike remarked, “I’ve never seen anything more beautiful,” and Esther started to cry.
Esther remarked, “This is a big decision, Summer, so before we move forward, I need to know if this is absolutely what you want.
Summer responded, “I had the best dad ever growing up; he picked me when I was a baby, and when I lost him, I was fortunate to get another dad.
He has helped me and loved me, and I believe that family extends far beyond blood relations.
Summer insisted that she knew her choice was “right,” but Mike urged her to keep their arrangement private for the time being.
The Weatherfield resident then elaborated on why she would prefer to receive some cash up front.
The couple concurred, and she received $10,000. They still act in a suspicious manner, though.
The two came up with an odd idea after learning that Summer was hiding her choice from her guardian Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).
They appeared pleased rather than upset to learn that Summer was keeping her important decision a secret.
They then discussed a plan with Summer and Aaron, which raised more questions.
Mike suggested that Summer put his name on the birth certificate for the child to make the process go more smoothly.
This would also give the couple a chance if Summer changed her mind following the birth of the child.
Could they be establishing their “ownership” of the child in an effort to prevent Summer from changing her mind?
Fans thought Esther and Mike have sinister plans because Summer agreed to the dubious idea.
Fans don’t trust the two, as stated by @Xanderdash on Twitter, who claimed that “#Corrie Summer just got guilted into having this baby.
“This couple seems a little too eager to start a family. Despite the fact that they appear to be honest, I have a lot of doubts about them.
@FLady1980 was speculating: “#corrie this couple wanting Summer’s baby are weird I bet they will kidnap Summer.”
Maybe if Aaron cut his fringe and Summer stopped whining for a moment, they would notice the strange cultists giving each other suspicious kidnapping looks in #Corrie, said @Louise49673572.

Aaron’s dad fails miserably after rehab, realizes that the baby was sold for no reason, and fights to get the baby back, which means more and more Summer and Aaron scenes in #Corrie, tweeted @Carol44698330.
It’s possible that the plot is moving in the direction of the couple being exposed as villains.
Summer might change her mind after the birth and after obtaining the birth certificate, but she might not be able to effectively argue her case if Mike’s name is on the birth certificate.
Will a frail Summer have a change of heart and decide she wants to keep her child after the baby is born?
Additionally, the couple will be able to claim that they already gave her the funds she requested.
Could the two have a dark scheme in store for us after all?
