Over the past few weeks, Coronation Street viewers have seen the Underworld chief repeatedly square off against the serial killer.
Viewers saw Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) attempt to negotiate a deal with a businessman on Monday’s episode of Coronation Street in order to aid Carla Connor’s (Alison King) company. Fans believe there will soon be a clash despite the con guy receiving a terrifying warning from the Underworld chief.
Carla was interested to learn how Rufus accomplished the work she requested after having to use blackmail to get the contract for her.
The Underworld boss was able to see through his act as he boasted to her about his ability to persuade when necessary.
Carla appears to be the only one in Weatherfield who has noticed his peculiar behaviour, despite the fact that he has succeeded in concealing his murdering spree.
She conveyed a strong warning to Stephen not to mistreat her although acknowledging that he was responsible for obtaining the contract.
Word of caution Stephen, she said. Don’t engage me. You don’t want to turn me into an enemy, I’m telling you.
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” Stephen retorted. But I appreciate the guidance.
It didn’t take long for fans to speculate on social media that a clash between the two characters was imminent after observing the tension develop between the two characters.
“Carla will be the one to bring Stephen down and I can’t wait!” said Dee Cee95x.
“I genuinely want to see Carla at war with Stephen,” Louise Hazeldine continued. and triumphing!”
Don’t mess with Carla Connor Stephen, warned RyanTheSoapking. QUEEN that she is Don’t overlook that.
“Can’t wait for the Carla v. Stephen final confrontation which will inevitably include the factory catching fire for the billionth time,” tweeted Twitter user AntMelia94.
It will be fantastic to see Stephen v. Carla, said Tellyaddict40.
“Seriously they think they can make a tale about Stephen trying to kill off Carla [sic] that’s like a prawn trying to kill a shark,” tweeted Twitter user shrimpsy291.
Even though Stephen and Carla haven’t yet had a disagreement, things could soon do so.
Future scenes will show Stephen injecting the Underworld CEO with LSD in an effort to make her appear insane so that he can take over her company.
Actor Todd Boyce touched on Stephen’s objectives when asked if the enduring persona might be in jeopardy.
This isn’t a deliberate plan to kill someone, he said in jest, “this is to get her out of the way of the business.
He just needs to mobilise them and convince them that she is not qualified for the position because he is aware that some machinists own stock in the company.
The murderer doesn’t intend to commit murder; instead, he intends to remove Carla from her position by giving the impression that she is insane.
He was given the inferior position of Office Manager, but his humiliation might make things worse.
The worst thing anyone could have done to Stephen, according to Todd, is to make him feel inferior in front of other people.
Iain MacLeod, the head of Coronation Street, said that Stephen’s peculiar behaviour may cause strife in Carla and Peter’s marriage since he thinks Carla is once again experiencing the psychosis she experienced in 2029.
