Viewers of Coronation Street on Wednesday night are certain that they saw a significant continuity mistake as Daisy Midgely’s stalking terror continued.
Fans of Coronation Street have been riveted by the current plot, which involves Justin stalking glitzy bartender Daisy Midgely (played by Charlotte Jordan) (Andrew Still). She’s become more anxious as his obsession with her has grown. Her wedding plans with her fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) are gradually disintegrating as Justin continues to infiltrate her life.
It’s a terrifying story, but on Wednesday night, a continuity mistake kept viewers from paying attention to his heinous deeds.
After Justin was able to enter the Barlow home, it was horrifying to discover Daisy locked inside by herself.
When he knocked, she bolted the front door before doing this.
He unexpectedly appeared in the living room, leading her to believe that she had been able to keep him at bay.
It appeared that she had forgotten to bolt the back door in her haste to secure the front of the house.
Justin said in a horrifying manner, “I tried the back door because I was worried about you.
Daisy burst into tears as the smitten and devoted stalker declared his desire to wed her.
Before Daniel arrived to save the day, the well-known character seemed to be in grave danger.
Whilst fans were relieved to see Daniel standing up to Justin and making him leave, they were also rather confused as to how he got in when the front door was bolted shut.
Taking to Twitter @Jamal06122771 wrote: “Am bamboozled how Daniel managed to get through the locked door.”
User @Cheryl_3003 said: “Didn’t Daisy lock the door from the inside? Then how did Daniel get in?”
“Daniel used his skills as a magical Houdini tribute act to get into the front door, which was bolted,” commented a user going by the handle @fussyMcWhiskers.
Daniel did well to open the door after Daisy fastened the chain, according to @lunchtimelady.
When writing, “Hold on………. how did Daniel get in the front of the door was latched?,” a user by the handle @liadaksy appeared to be very perplexed. (sic)
According to @A w89, “She bolted that door? How did Daniel enter then?
Some Twitter users, despite their continued confusion, were able to keep their attention on the plot rather than the mistake.
@I am KenBarlow user, who is obviously a huge fan, posed the following question:
Why did Daniel not strike Justin? When Daisy opened the back door, Justin had her by surprise and was standing there like a wet lettuce.
When Daniel discovered Justin still skulking around later in the episode, the two did in fact start fighting, but viewers will have to wait to see how the crazy stalker responds.
