Coronation Street killer Stephen Reid escalates his vendetta against Carla Connor after drugging her for weeks and tricking her into believing she is having a breakdown, which could spell the end for the factory owner.
Stephen Reid, the murderer from Coronation Street, played by Todd Boyce, is about to escalate his hatred for Carla Barlow, played by Allison King. It will horrify ITV soap opera viewers to learn that the factory boss’ life is in grave danger. According to ITV’s official spoilers, Stephen intends to make Carla his third victim after killing builder Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost) and his father Teddy (Grant Burgin).
After hitting Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) with the Underworld van while driving without insurance, Carla is currently worried about the possibility of going to jail.
Although her husband Peter (Chris Gascoigne) reassures her that won’t happen, she is unable to conceal her busyness.
She visits Dr. Gaddas (Christine Mackie) while unaware that Stephen has been giving her LSD doses and describes how each recent episode feels like she’s high on drugs.
The doctor gives her diazepam after taking into account her symptoms, which she is hoping will be helpful.
She can’t afford to be sick, though, as the American delegation needs to visit the factory to finalize a significant deal.
Stephen takes advantage of the fact that she’s beginning to falter and reminds her that she must be at her best.
Carla’s feisty side, however, emerges despite her health concerns, and she takes charge by telling him to make the tea.
Furious at the factory boss for this humiliation he double doses her tea with the mind-altering drug.
She makes it through the majority of the meeting, but as it comes to an end, the LSD starts to take effect.
She doesn’t know she’s been drugged. Carla starts acting strangely, but the deal is still secure.
When the Americans leave, the factory workers celebrate until a worse-for-wear Carla barks at them to get out.
Stephen can’t help but smile while his colleagues are in awe of her.
Despite his best efforts, Carla nevertheless declares the following day that she is fine and going to work.
But when she breaks a mug while attempting to make a drink and cuts her finger, her claims that the previous day was just a blimp appear unfounded.
When she returns to the doctor after realizing she can’t handle it, the doctor advises her to take a long break and resume taking her antipsychotic medications.
Stephen’s nefarious plan doesn’t end there though and he pockets the keys to her flat.
As Carla rests he lets himself into her home and deposits the keys back in her handbag.
After checking that she is out for the count he heads to the kitchen where he turns on the grill before leaving.
Could the beloved boss woman of Weatherfield be about to meet a grisly end at his hands?
