Later this year, the Celebrity Hunted episode on Channel 4 will return for a Stand Up To Cancer special.
In the past, the suspenseful program has caused viewers to yell at the television while formulating their own escape strategies for the competitors. Ten celebrities will take on the challenge this year and disguise themselves as fugitives in an effort to avoid being found by the Hunters and surveillance specialists.
In support of Stand Up To Cancer, the 10 celebrities will attempt to outwit law enforcement, former intelligence agents, and armed forces personnel.
The lineup includes former Coronation Street star Nicola Thorp, who portrayed the long-lost daughter of serial killer Pat Phelan, Nicola Rubinstein.
She is also participating with her actor fiancé, Nikesh Patel, who has appeared in Law and Order, Midsomer Murders, and London Has Fallen.
Nik and Eva Speakman from This Morning will take a break from counseling viewers through their worst fears to go on the run for the series.
Stars of Strictly Katya Jones and Saffron Barker will be hiding from the police while waltzing their way into challenging situations while putting their dancing shoes away.
Aimee Fuller, an Olympic snowboarder, will join them and use her quick reflexes to dart into any willing bystanders to help hide her.
Ed Gamble, James Acaster, and TV mathematician Bobby Seagull round out the cast.
The five pairs must attempt to remain covert and undiscovered for two weeks without the Hunters discovering where they have chosen to hide in the wilderness.
“Get ready for the adventures of our best cast of celebrity fugitives ever,” producer Tom Hutchings has teased.
For the first time, we release them in grand prison escape fashion!
“Be prepared for the unexpected as our fugitives enlist the aid of their famous friends, conceal themselves in the riskiest places, and are pursued across the UK by our fearless team of Hunters.
Chief Lisa Theaker will serve as the team’s leader.
“We are thrilled to be bringing back one of the most thrilling nationwide chase games with an esteemed group of celebrities supporting the amazing efforts of Stand Up to Cancer,” said Ian Dunkley, commissioning editor for factual entertainment at Channel 4.
Ollie and Gareth Locke from Made in Chelsea, Lisa Maffia, and The Vivienne were among the celebrities who appeared in the previous season’s series.
Last year, the regular Channel 4 series came under fire from viewers who thought it was rigged.
Before the Hunters even arrived on the island, Sarah Kibble arrived at the extraction point in Scotland and claimed the prize money.
She had avoided some close calls during her time on the show, but Lou Clarey wrote on Twitter: “Hunted is the worst; it’s so staged. I’ve wasted so much time.”
As John Maries said: “It’s unfortunate that Hunted is obviously a fix. Please, Channel 4, air a show that isn’t staged.”
“I mean, Made in Chelsea is less fake,” Bill Holland continued, “but I enjoyed that.”
