According to Claire, who spoke with OK! Magazine, “My ex didn’t want kids because he already had one.
“And by the time we parted ways, I narrowly missed missing that window.
But after becoming ill and needing a hysterectomy, I realized it wasn’t meant to be for me.
She continued, “Fortunately, I’d already had the experience of toddler to teenager because my ex-husband Pete had a son.
“As a result, I was ready when my current partner and two teenagers entered my life. I like to think that I supported them during some of their formative years.
She was identified as having rheumatoid arthritis, a degenerative condition that causes the body’s immune system to attack the joints.
The celebrity admitted that she was concerned about burdening her family as she ages.
She stated to the Sunday Mirror that “I am concerned that as I get older, I will start to burden those around me.
“I can see why people opt for assisted dying, and I might even give it some thought in the future.
“Since I don’t have any children, I won’t be hurting any.”
My family will be mostly gone. It is not a selfless act. At a certain age, when you start to burden others, you have to make this choice.
Jamie Tate, played by Alexander Lincoln, is the on-screen son of the actress. He is a partner in the Emmerdale Veterinary Surgery and was involved in a relationship triangle with Belle Dingle and Andrea (Anna Nightingale).
Chris (Peter Amory), Zoe (Leah Bracknell), and Dawn Taylor are Kim’s other stepchildren (Olivia Bromley).
Claire began her acting career in the late 1980s with the movie Eat the Rich. Since then, she has appeared in Hollyoaks, Bad Girls, and The Gemma Factor.
