Kimberly Walsh, a singer for Girls Aloud, has a younger sister named Amy Walsh, an Emmerdale actress.
She gained notoriety in 2002 through the television program Popstars: The Rivals, which included Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, and Nadine Coyle in the band.
Girls Aloud toured abroad and sold more than four million singles over the course of their 10-year career.
She reportedly had the potential to appear in Coronation Street, a soap opera that competes with Emmerdale.
Kimberly made the top three in the ITV drama’s 2000 casting process for the role of Maria Connor.
The role ultimately went to the actress Samia Longchambon, and Walsh went on to try out for The Rivals two years later.
She participated in the 2012 season of Strictly Come Dancing and finished in second place.
Amy is not the only actress in the family; her sister Sally also appeared in Emmerdale.
When Sally Walsh was 18 years old, Lyn Hutchinson was Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) girlfriend for three years.
She left in 2000 and later made appearances in Coronation Street and EastEnders.
In the latter, Katie McGlynn’s character Sinead Tinker gave birth to her son Bertie while Sally played a midwife.
Amy has previously discussed what it was like to grow up in a home filled with performers.
It was a little bit like Fame in our house, she told The Sun Online.
“There are a ton of videos of us performing in plays when we were younger.
“My mother was a music teacher, so she would be playing the piano as Sally and Kimberley practiced their own little shows every morning before school.
We had a small tea party while watching Emmerdale when I first started working there with my mother and Kimberley.
Toby-Alexander Smith, who plays Toby in EastEnders, and Amy welcomed their first child, Bonnie Mae, earlier this year.
He was well-known for playing the antagonist Gray Atkins, who killed his wife Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer).
Several years ago, while Strictly Come Dancing was being filmed, the couple happened to be seated next to each other.
