In the meantime, the fate of young Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) is made public. Will he be found responsible for Al Chapman’s (Michael Wildman) murder? Whatever transpires, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), Kyle’s mother, makes a significant choice regarding her own future.

Paddy leaves his loved ones a distressing note
Paddy appears in the village looking disheveled after disappearing so abruptly, shocking everyone. While Paddy’s estranged wife Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is annoyed by Paddy’s behavior, Marlon simmers over the stress of the recent weeks but makes a beeline for his friend.
Chas is moved by the emotional reunion when she sees the pain and sadness in Paddy’s eyes when Bear and young Eve arrive. However, Paddy fakes happiness to keep Marlon off his back, only to break down when his friend departs. Broken, Paddy attempts to make amends with his family and friends throughout the day, but nobody realizes he’s actually saying goodbye in secret and leaving his dad a letter.
Later, after Paddy has left, Bear discovers the note. As he horrifiedly reads it, everyone scrambles to find Paddy. The reality of what Paddy is planning dawns on Marlon as Rhona Goskirk (Zo Henry) discloses that a bolt gun has vanished from the veterinary clinic. But can anyone track him down before he tragically decides to kill himself? On Paddy’s mental health storyline, Emmerdale is collaborating with Andy’s Man Club and Samaritans.
Will Kyle be found guilty of murder?
Kyle awaits his hearing for shooting Al to death next week while his mother Amy plans to seek sole custody and his father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is still prohibited from seeing him. When Matty Barton, Amy’s boyfriend (played by Ash Palmisciano), inquires about Kyle’s best interests, he is unable to conceal his emotions. Amy is making an effort to maintain her composure for her son, who is afraid of what the future may hold.
In order to see his son, Cain, who feels helpless, forces his way into the Keepers Cottage. Caleb Milligan (William Ash) convinces Amy to give Cain and Kyle the time they need to be alone because he realizes how important it is for them to be together. Soon after, Kyle’s lawyer calls with some news, leaving everyone on edge. What will happen with Kyle’s case?
Amy proposes to Matty
It surprises everyone when Amy unexpectedly pops the question to Matty as the week goes on. But what will he say in response? When Matty tells his mother Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) about Amy’s proposal, Moira is thrilled. However, when she notices Matty’s unease about the whole thing, Matty admits that he fears Amy only asked him to marry her as part of her plan to obtain full custody of Kyle.
When Cain learns, Moira is furious but she has a job to do, so she frantically tries to calm him down as he bangs on Amy’s door and wants to shout the odds. Will Amy follow through on her plans, and is Matty right to have reservations about their nuptials?
Leyla makes a pass at Jai
Leyla, who is in recovery from addiction, is touched by Jai’s kindness when he checks on her after he opens her decree nisi. She leans in to kiss Jai, mistaking his warmth for something more. When they realize that Jai’s partner Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) has seen them, the situation only becomes more embarrassing for Jai.
When Laurel storms out, Jai is left helpless. Later, Leyla is disappointed to learn from Jai that he is no longer able to protect her. Suzy Merton, a friend of hers (Martelle Edinborough), agrees to step in and support her instead. Will Suzy’s assistance help Leyla become stronger? Will Laurel be able to comprehend Jai’s efforts to be a friend?
Samson steps up his blackmail of Noah
Samson threatens to blackmail Noah for an additional £2k the following week after getting him to agree to settle their debt. In order to avoid being around his girlfriend Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) and the infant Esther, Noah reluctantly agrees to pay the sum of money.

Arthur is in shock when Marshall (Max Fletcher) informs him that his father is sending him away to boarding school. Marshall dismisses his feelings for him once more, explaining that they are just friends. Will this be the last time Arthur sees Marshall, whose father has shown himself to be homophobic and is thus opposed to his son spending any time with Arthur? Will Marshall be able to remain in the community?
Charles worries for Naomi
Naomi sets up a date with Dawn Fletcher’s shady ex, Alex Moore (Liam Boyle) (Olivia Bromley). Dawn is shocked to see Naomi and Alex making out in front of the café; Naomi has no idea what she’s getting herself into. Charles is surprised to see his daughter out on a date with Alex and is concerned about the potential consequences. Will someone alert Naomi to Alex’s bad deeds? Is Alex up to mischief? Or perhaps she’ll have to meet him for herself to see how he is?
